well I am currently in high school and know i want to become a pediatrician. I did some research and i realized i need 4-years of college, 4-years of medical school, and 3-years of internship. i decided that i am going to tech next year and i just wanted to know if that is going to count for anything like if i go to tech can that count for medical school or the internship? Or can it at least reduce some years from medical school or the internship?
Does Itt Tech count for medical school or internship?
With a question like that, you will never become a doctor.. You have to go to a 4 year college.. Then you take the MCATs and if you do good a med. school might accept you.. Then you have to find a hospital to work at, most likely the med. school hospital at whatever med school you attend.. ITT Tech will not get you anything. No one that wants to be a doctor goes to ITT Tech. ITT Tech is for people that couldn't make it in college.
Reply:ITT campuses often do not offer degrees, much less 4-year degrees. Most of them only offer certification in specific areas, such as computer repair, which will not transfer to a 4-year college. I think you might want to reconsider going there if you plan on going to medical school.
Reply:I really doubt it. Do you really think what you would learn at a tech school would better prepare you for med school? I would get a job working as a volunteer in a hospital, clinic or take courseware that directly maps to medical school. Courses like biology, chemistry, sociology, psychology and such.
Reply:Most tech schools will only offer either Associate Degrees or certificates. Most (if not all) Medical schools won't consider tech schools as a four year university especially if it's ITT Tech which focus heavily on technology, business, and criminal justice, not medicine.
