Would you want medical researchers to have access to your records without your consent?
If it was done in a way that was totally anonymous. I think it could really help advance our medical knowledge when it comes to diagnosing primary and secondary effects of illnesses. The links between lifestyle and affliction. It's really not an invasion of privacy to say "this one guy has hemroids, diabetes and had his tonsils removed when he was 10". Reply:no, not that I wouldn't give consent cuz I've got nothing to hide, but I'd like the option of giving it. not being able to give consent would make me feel violated.
