How do I get a Job in International Public Health/Development?

Dear All,

I am highly interested in getting a job in International Public health/development. I have professional experience in public health/disease control/medical research in sub-Sahara Africa; and a Masters degree in Public Health from a topmost university in Europe. I have been applying to relevant jobs for some time but get no result. Thanks for your kind answers.

I should contact the organisations which did not offer you a job and ask them for feedback. Maybe there is an area where you need more experience. Or maybe you are not presenting yourself as well as you could.

There is sometimes an issue about people's motivation for this kind of work; your potential employer will want to know that you will be a good team player and serve their aims, and respect the aims of the local community, rather than necessarily pursuing a personal agenda of your own.

If you have friends already working in this field, get them to look over your CV and maybe try some mock interview questions on with you. They will have the knowledge to give you honest feedback on how well your responses fit with what they think people are looking for.

Good luck!
