What are the people that fly the medical helicopters for hospitals called?

I am 16 year old male right now. I have one more year in school. I have been intrested in this job for a while. Only I have no clue how to research it or how to get trainning for it. I mean you need a helicopters license and do they need any medical trainning? I am talking about he people who fly the helicopters to go get the emergency calls from car wrecks etc. Any have any good websites to check out etc.

thanks,

They're called Pilots.

Our local medical helicopter provider, Mercy Flight (www.mercyflight.org), requires that all it's pilots have 10 years experience and be former military as well. If you're seriously interested in flying helicopters/planes for a living, I'd recommend you check out the armed forces. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force... they all have an air branch. Talk to your local recruiter and see what they have to offer.

It beats paying thousands of dollars for training that the military would pay you to take.
Reply:They are called Medivac helicopter pilots.
