Does anyone know anything about medical alert systems?

My mother is elderly and insists on still being alone, I have convinced her to get a medical alert system in her home. I have looked on the internet to research them, but can't seem to see the difference in the different ones.

Does anyone know anything about medical alert systems?
They are similar. The companies may be out of state, but I don't think that is a problem. They set up the system in the house so that the speaker can pick you up where ever you are in the house. They have a rope/necklace version and a wrist version. You need to keep it on you all the time. I used to work for a hospice and it was a great way to alert someone there was a problem. They called they people on your list and if needed, 911.

It is worth paying for something like this when you have a frail person living alone. I highly recommend it.
Reply:I have known I have type 1 diabetes for a year, and my doctor didn't make the medical alert sound like an important option.

Call me crazy, but I think it might be important to have access to emergency care in, say, a situation when my life is in danger.
