How dangerous are human medical trials?

I am in financial difficulty, and am considering doing human medical trials at the Guys hospital drug research unit. How dangerous is this?

How dangerous are human medical trials?
clearly it depends firstly on the nature of the trial. A trial looking into the effects of acupuncture on treating athlete's foot is far less risky than a trial on a new treatment within oncology!

When a drug is trialed, it is generally the first time that it has been tested on humans. Generally the drug is safe, (more to the point, the doctors know how the drug will react on most occasions), however, as in the case of

Park, there are rare occasions when the drug behaves in way not previously known.

Incidentally, Viagra was first trialled on men who were at risk of heart attacks, but the doctor running the trial said that all the men found that they were having erections after taking the medication
Reply:i was gonna do one once but didnt go thru with it coz in the lond run dont know what effect they will have on u in future!

look what happened to them ppl in the news the other month!!

up to u tho

health or money????
Reply:Not dangerous at all! I did it numerous times and never had anything adverse happen to me at all. In fact you can acquire some interesting side effects! I now hear in color, and can speak to most single cell organisms, not to mention that when it rains I can vibrate hard enough to pass through a wall if I want to. Oh! And I made $27 bucks!
Reply:Maybe you should google them and anything over their company will come up..just go to google.com. Good luck!
Reply:Since that medical trial went horrendously wrong and the men were dubed 'elephant man' I would say you were pretty safe...they will not dare take risks like that again plus that was a diff company. I would trust Guys hospital...go for it x
Reply:Most of the time not much but after therecent scare I'm not so sure, a while ago I considered doing them too, but as I get mild asthema and am on medication they wouldn't take me.
Reply:Always a pleasure to receive feedback about my insights on yahoo answers, especially from recidivist speculitive pornographers. I have many great domains available:

www.yourmotherlovesyoutoo.co.uk (valued at 1p)

www.ihatemyselfandiwanttodie.org (valued at £2000)

www.cantmakeanhonestliving.co.uk (no value)

and many more...
Reply:You get more money for the more risky trials which i wouldn't recommend as you can be permantly damaged with them, the minor ones like acne cream testing or deoderant sensitivity testing are safer but as i said you won't get as much. I do think the recent scare was just unlucky and there are thousands of people out there that do the trials and live happy, healthy lives, its really up to yourself if you want to take the risk.
Reply:Extremely dangerous. As these drugs will never have been tested on humanss before, making you the proverbial guinea pig.
