Is it really bad taking medical assistant?I've read alot of bad feedbacks?

I've researched medical assistant online and read alot. It seems like many people are trying to put medical assistant as nothin but a crap.In Oregon the salary starts 13.00 up 22.00 per hr. So how could some people say medical assistant is a crap job? Remember every medical field has a different specialty and knowledge that doctors can't do same as medical field. So we should be careful what we suggest and give advice with some people who are looking a job as medical assistant.

If the remarks are coming from ppl who don't work in the field....it could be made out of ignorance. It is the med. assts who make your appointment, make sure the doctor gets an updated chart, takes vitals, etc. Without medical assistants ppl would probably wait hours to, not only make an appointment, but to see the doctor. Most doctors stink at the adminstrative aspect of their jobs. If the comment was made by ppl who are medical assistants, it could be that doctors are notorious for treating their employees badly. Not all of them, but some. I have a girlfriend who's daughter is a medical assistant and she works in a doctor's office making $15.00 an hour, but she also picks up side work taking care of the elderly %26amp; disabled in their home. Last year, she made $65,000.00. Which is more than a starting teachers salary here in Philly. It is also the same amount of money that a first year City Council person makes. She has a new home...a new car.....took a two week vacation on a crusie....not bad for a "crappy job." If you want to be a medical assisant...go for it. Because at the end of the day...if you are miserable in a job...it doesn't matter how much money you make. The important thing is doing something that you like doing. Because there are so many fields a medical assistant can work in....the possibilities are endless.
Reply:the field of medical lab technichian and related fields are in big demand right now. the average age of a med. lab tech/assist. is 40 years old. their wanting to get some fresh blood in the labs. get the joke? fresh blood in the blood lab. its a good field, you'll just be subordinate to someone. you wont be a supervisor.

it is sick people


who goes into a Doctor's office..sick people or healthy?

my friend (a technican)lost her job..as she accidently got hurt with a "dirty needle"..in the doctor's office..


so try doing some charitiy work in the hospital first..to be certain it is what you want..........


most potential nurses are 100% recommended to work at least 100 hours of charitiy work to be certain it is the job they want.


it is a huge investment..


and don't think you will be in a desk and not affected.........


sick people walk past you all the time, coughing, etc..


not many healthy people see a Doctor..
