What are great and promising research topics I can use for a huge assignment. Any suggestions?

I have to pick a really good research topic. The topic could be social, societal, cultural, economic, political, environmental, medical, etc. I have to have a "argumentative thesis statement" and then have it have the potential to take it apart, see the problems in the topic and then talk about possible solutions. It will be a 7 page paper so the topic is what will make or break it. Any suggestions on some topics with lots of information that may be useful? I have to be able to gather 10 various reliable sources.

I think your best bet would be to go with something that's been in the news a lot lately, because you'll be able to find lots of recent information and many sources on it; plus, it will be interesting and timely. An example might be, global warming. Everyone's talking about it lately (including the presidential candidates). There's a documentary coming up on the National Geographic channel. There are lots of articles online and in journals.

Another interesting idea would be, so-called "illegal immigration." Like, should we or should we not allow illegal immigrants from Mexico to work here, obtain driver's licenses, vote, etc. There are lots of articles on that.

Another idea might be, universal healthcare. Would it be good or bad for us as a nation to have universal healthcare. Would the quality of our healthcare decrease. Would the expense of providing healthcare for every person drive us into a recession. There would be LOTS of information on that in many sources.

Another topic might be, immunizations. Your thesis could be, "An increase in mandatory immunizations is a good (or bad) thing." There's lots of discussion recently about whether the immunization shots themselves can cause problems like autism. Also, is it reasonable for all young girls to be immunized for cervical cancer, or is it just another way for pharmaceutical companies to make money.

These are all topics that are very timely and you would have no problem at all finding multiple sources on them. Good luck with your paper!
Reply:My suggestion is to pick something you are very passionate about. If it were me, I would write about abortion or gay marriages or the death penalty. Those have a tremendous amount of information and I have done plenty of research papers on them, so I would know. You have to have an interest in the topic or else you won't care about it. Think about an issue or law that you feel strongly towards - either for it or against it. Good luck!
Reply:In the field of medical research, it is now possible to grow some new body parts. For example, bladders can be grown in the laboratory using the patient's own stem cells, and the resulting organ transplanted into the patient - no rejection problems because it is the patient's own cellular matter. And a finger has been regrown. A man who lost the tip of his finger from the end knuckle up, has regrown the finger tip, complete with a nail! There are some remarkable advances in this field that may completely revolutionize medical practices.
Reply:I sent you the e-mail because Yahoo is having problems with posted links,
