I have 3 weeks in August of absolutely nothing to do between the time my summer school ends and University begins, and I'd really like to make those weeks productive. I'm looking for medical volunteering or research, or work opportunities, but I'm having difficulty finding any that are only a few weeks. I'd appreciate any advice, I can't stand being bored!
How can I find an opportunity for 2-3 weeks of volunteer/research/work this summer?
I really don't know anything that's going to let you only work/volunteer for 2-3 weeks. Most volunteer jobs require about a week of training in itself. I doubt most places are going to have someone 'on the clock' train you if they're really not getting much out of it.
I say that you should enjoy your 3 weeks of not having to do anything!!! I bet if you made a daily/weekly schedule it would make you feel more productive (e.g., 3-5: pm - Read a book). Learn how to relax a bit before you get back to school!
Reply:Try going to the local library and ask if they could use help shelving books. This will not only give you the chance to help out your library, but you'll also get exposed to a ton of books and probably learn a lot! Great way to prepare for college!
